The Bahamas is launching "BEATS", an extended stay program allowing visitors to work and study from The Bahamas for up to 1 year.

How it works
Living the island life for up to a year is as simple as filling out an online BEATS application for review by Bahamas Immigration. Approval can take up to 5 days at which point, applicants will receive an email for payment. Once your payment is processed, you will receive a confirmation QR Code to show upon entry into The Bahamas. That’s it.
Step 1, Fill in an application
The Applicant will fill out and submit the online Beats application form with an application fee of $25. Valid for both work and study remote applicants.
Please have the following documents ready to apply:
Valid Passport Data Page
Medical Insurance Card
Those applying for Work Remote, proof of Employment
Those applying for Study Remote, Student ID
Step 2, Permit Approval
An immigration officer will approve or deny the application within 5 business days.
Step 3, Permit Fees
If the application is approved, the Applicant will receive an email for payment. Work Remote permits are $1,000 for the head of household and $500.00 for each dependant. Study permits are $500.00 for each applicant. Permit application fee of $25 will also be collected once approved. All fees quoted are in Bahamian currency.
Step 4, Electronic QR Permit
After successful payment is received, the Applicant will receive a confirmation QR code to show upon arrival to The Bahamas.
