Now the Bahamas is opening up, the vacation home rental sector is expected to take off.
Of course, no-one knows exactly what the travel industry will look like in a few months, but most agree that the Coronavirus crisis is likely to bring major changes. Vacation home rentals are set to see surging demand at the expense of hotels, says a report from the
CNBC website, with The Bahamas among popular destinations.

Once travel picks up In the Bahamas after the phased re-opening, families are much more likely to seek vacation rentals, where they can be more private and self-contained, than large hotels, experts suggest. There is also set to be a shift to high-end vacation home rentals. as guests opt for quality vacations with safety in mind.
Vacation rental specialist Caribnb states, “We believe high-end rentals will do better as it will be more expensive to travel, and people who can afford a private plane or business class to avoid crowds will more than likely look for the privacy and convenience of a house rather than a crowded hotel. Shared room or space will be suffering as fewer people will be likely to book them.”
As the focus changes to shorter travel times, the Bahamas will be among the most popular overseas destinations for much-needed vacations for United States residents, which account for 82% of visitors to the islands. As it takes under an hour to fly from Florida to Nassau and under two hours by boat, The Bahamas is convenient and accessible.
During the pandemic, some existing vacation rental properties have switched to providing long-term rental accommodation, which means those that stayed as vacation rentals in the Bahamas are now ready to pick up more business from holidaymakers.
At the same time, vacation home rentals could now see longer bookings, as there are signs that more guests are opting for stays of a month or more at a time, according to the New York Times.
Caribnb says, “Tourists are seeing that the Bahamas are opening up and are thinking about summer and fall vacation options. At Caribnb you can find the perfect vacation rental, which allows you and your family to find rest, relaxation, and enjoyment in our tropical paradise, away from the hotel crowds.”
