Here are our top 5 beaches to visit in New Providence/Paradise Island:
Cable Beach
Cable Beach is ideally placed, just a 15-minute drive west from the capital. With 4 km (2.5 miles) of white sand and shallow waters, this beautiful beach is perfect for families. Cable Beach has vendors offering water-skiing, jet-skiing, diving snorkeling, and banana boat ride on its inviting turquoise water for those who love water sports. The famous beach, which is one of the most popular in New Providence, begins 3 miles west of Nassau, and although some sections are private, there are plenty of public areas for you to enjoy.
Cabbage Beach
Cabbage Beach is another popular beach, this time on the north coast of Paradise Island. If you want to be in the livelier part of the beach, stick to the near part. Further down, the coastline offers a quieter, relaxed ambiance to enjoy. The Beach can tend to have unpredictable water conditions, so be sure to keep a check-out, especially during winter. Like Cable Beach, Cabbage Beach has some public access areas and some linked to hotels or private homes.
Love Beach
As the name suggests, Love Beach is one for the romantics. If you’d like to visit a smaller, quieter shoreline with vendors at a minimum, then this north coast beach is the place to be. The beach itself is about a mile long, with coarse white sand and some natural rock pools. And it is usually quiet.
Caves Beach
Located on the north shore, to the west of Cable Beach, the crescent-shaped Caves Beach is a perfect, spot to escape from the crowds. Its narrow strip of soft, white sands and make it a beautiful and less-crowded place to visit. The name comes from the limestone caverns near the beach, which you can explore too. Please note, there are no toilets or changing facilities here. Some caves are home to bats.
Saunders Beach
If you’re looking to enjoy a beach frequented by locals, then Saunders Beach is the place to be. Also located on the northern shore, but to the east of Cable Beach, the white beach is outlined with tropical trees. The beach is popular for families, as there is a play park nearby and restrooms, and it often hosts local fundraising cookouts, which are open to the public. Rock coves may be roped up for swimming.
